How to Care for Your Printed Apparel
Your Sirflick.shop garments are printed using premium DTG (Direct-to-Garment) and DTF (Direct-to-Film) techniques. Following these simple steps keeps your prints bold and your fabric feeling great, wash after wash.
1. Turn Inside Out Before Washing
Always turn your garment inside out before placing it in the washer. This protects the print surface from friction and abrasion, which is the #1 cause of cracking and fading.
2. Wash in Cold Water
Use cold or cool water (30°C / 86°F or lower). Hot water breaks down the ink bond over time and can cause shrinkage in cotton and cotton-blend fabrics.
3. Use a Gentle Detergent
Choose a mild, dye-free detergent. Avoid bleach, fabric softeners, and any detergents with harsh optical brighteners — these degrade DTG and DTF inks.
4. Gentle or Delicate Cycle Only
Select the gentle or delicate wash cycle. High-agitation cycles stress the print and fabric, shortening garment life.
5. Skip the Dryer — or Use Low Heat
Air-drying is best. If you use a dryer, set it to the lowest heat setting. High heat (above 60°C / 140°F) can cause prints to crack, peel, or fade permanently.
6. Don't Iron Directly on the Print
If ironing is needed, turn the garment inside out and iron on the reverse side only. Never apply a hot iron directly to printed areas.
7. Avoid Dry Cleaning and Tumble Drying on High
Dry cleaning solvents can damage print inks. Always air-dry when possible.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will my print crack or peel over time?
With proper care — cold wash, inside out, gentle cycle, low heat — quality DTG and DTF prints last for years without cracking or peeling. High heat and harsh washing are the main culprits of premature wear.
There's a faint odor on my new shirt. Is that normal?
Yes! DTG-printed garments may have a slight pre-treatment smell when new. This is completely normal and washes out fully after the first wash.
Can I put my garment in the dryer?
You can, but use the lowest heat setting. Air-drying remains the safest option for long-term print quality.
My print looks faded after washing. What happened?
Most fading is caused by hot water, high-heat drying, or washing right-side out. If you follow the steps above, this should not recur. If the issue appeared after the very first wash, please contact us — we stand behind our print quality.
What fabrics do your garments use?
Our apparel is primarily 100% ring-spun cotton or cotton/polyester blends, sourced and fulfilled through Printful and Ninja POD. Specific fabric content is listed on each product page.
Do you accept returns for print quality issues?
Yes. If your item arrives with a printing defect or quality issue, contact us within 30 days of delivery with a photo and your order number. We'll make it right.
